Product Description
Austin is a pattern of handsome simplicity that is historical without feeling dated. The basis of the profile is O’Brien’s favorite antique knife and fork set, from Manchester, England, dating from the mid 1800s. That form has been grandly rescaled and adapted to the other implements, for a large, generous, and more modern feel in hand. A fine perimeter banding adorns all of the handles. Since his arrival on the New York design stage, O’Brien has been widely recognized for his trademark style of “warm modernism,” bringing vanguard mid-century forms and furnishings into a context of classic comfort. In both interiors and products, his firm promotes understated elegance with a pulse on tradition, deploying pairings of old and new, sophisticated and simple, to create a style that feels at once refined and familiar.
