Working on the same principle as a piston, the Reed’s Rocket is the nutcracker for the automobile age. The nut holder is bolted to one end of a short steel beam; this screws forward or back, depending on the size of the nut. At the other end, a wood-handled lever pushes the piston forward into the nut, cracking it with smooth efficiency.
