Salmon Tartare with a Avocado Puree

Sushi has become huge all over the world. Personally I prefer sashimi over sushi only because I am not a big fan of rice. This dish of salmon tartare was just created on a whim as I had an avocado that needed to be made and it happened to be a very hot day. Always be careful when consuming raw seafood.

Ingredients

  • 8 oz sushi grade salmon diced into small pieces
  • 1 teaspoon wasabi powder
  • 1/4 cup green onion chopped
  • 1/2 lime juice
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • Pinch of salt and pepper
  • Avocado puree
  • 1 avocado
  • 1/2 lime juice
  • 1 small clove garlic
  • Pinch of salt

Instructions

  • 1. Combine salmon, onion, wasabi powder, lime juice and olive oil and fold
  • 2. Cover and place in refrigerator for 12-minutes
  • 3. When ready to serve place salmon in a small glass bowl, pack with spoon and turn carefully onto plate.

  • 6. Combine all ingredients in a blender and pulse until smooth
  • 7. Serve on side of plate
