Anyone who is as much of a Food Lover as I am loves a good recipe. And these crab cakes of Robert Irvine just catch my eye on the Food Network but it caught my eye for a reason. Yeah…I watch the Food Network and I love this guy, Robert Irvine. I truly enjoy watching him bring people in a failing business and not only turn it around but the way he gets them to communicate, create a superb working environment, change the entire business and staff in just days. This is management at it’s finest with the ability to communicate like no other. The guy knows his food, knows the business and just has a passion. Our secret…I watch this guy at night like I watch my Steelers play on Sunday’s. That means I’m on the edge of my seat waiting for the quarterback to throw a TD only Robert plays defense and offense. So Robert, if you ever find me I want to come cook with you and learn. I’d even be your food photographer as long as I can share your kitchen…I just love Restaurant Impossible.
Now about these crab cakes. After watching his show I wanted to find out more about this guy so I did a search and somehow ened up on his crab cakes with grilled corn relish recipe. It looked so good and because we eat with our eyes I then looked at the ingredients. I had everything except the corn and the crabmeat in my refrigerator. I only made two minor changes. Because I hate to waste food I had green onion I really should use so I opted for that instead of using an onion he suggested. I didn’t have the hot sauce I would assume he would use so I used Goya Salsita Hot Sauce with Ancho Chiles because I had it. I also only used 8-0z of jumbo lump crab because I live alone so I didn’t need all that crab. But wow…this was really beyond incredible and I could have eaten more.
Note: You can use a less expensive type of crab meat and you can make them smaller to make as a finger food for parties.
