Have you noticed all the sharing of food and food pages on Facebook? It seems that everyone is tired of the control Facebook is imposing on their food page. You share a link, image or another food page and the amount of people exposed to it is 1-2% of your total followers. People take the time to like your page and follow you and they don’t even see your posts. Am I complaining? Not really, as Facebook is a business and it’s free, so I get that. But how does a food page that may not have the financial resources to buy Facebook airtime get others to enjoy their food page? For one check your settings on a page you like to make sure it is set to see every post they make.
Well, there are a few other ways and many have caught on. One, which I personally love…is MB Things I Know. Almost every food page goes to share recipes with Mary Beth at MB Things I Know and in return she shares your recipe. If you haven’t been there click on over and see the buzz. Honestly…I have no idea just how she does it all. Kudos to her!!
So for no apparent reason I just one day decided to try featuring a food page for the day. Never could I do what Mary Beth does…what an unselfish act of kindness on her behalf to share all these pages…reposting, commenting and so on.
I started The Social Chef featured Facbook food pages daily and I have some mixed emotions. For one, I am kind of shocked more pages do not comment, like or share the post on the daily featured Facebook food page. Do they not think it will help them or just why don’t they help a fellow food page? Ironically I have been inundated with emails asking how to become a featured post. I really have no set way of doing it. So far I have chosen food pages that I’ve known a long time and who have supported me in the
past. But with recent emails I’ve been getting I have a little pit in my stomach and have to change my approach. I’m not angry but I’ve certainly notice more and more people out for just them. The old saying…what are you going to do for me today seems to fit.
With such a desire to gain exposure and build your following on Facebook I’ve decided to continue The Social Chefs Featured Facebook Food Page for the day. It will always be posted to the top of my page. What I have changed is how I go about featuring a page. I still have a few food pages in
which I have promised to make The Social Chefs featured Facebook food page in which I have already chosen. But now I
will do it based on a few factors that you are able to control relieving me of the burden on just who to choose.
First and foremost those food pages that “comment”, “like” and “share” the post I place on my Facebook page, as the featured Facebook food page of the day will be one. Secondly, and a sure way to enhance your ability to be featured food page is if a food page and or food blogger comes to my blog and submits “your” recipe in the submit a recipe section. This will be a pretty sure way I will feature you. And please continue to support the other daily featured Facebook pages, you can be featured again. It must always be your recipe and image.
The way I look at it is we are all here to share our passion, which is food. Why not help another food page get some exposure? I was a public speaker for 10-years and one of the things that I truly believe is a saying I used often by a famous self help and motivational speaker, Zig Ziglar…“If you help enough people get what they want……you will get everything you want”. Keep that in mind.

4. Highlight words you want to attach links to. After highlighting your word(s) you want to add links to, click paperclip and insert the URL and assign a title
A few things I am going to in addition to the featured Facebook food pages is I will share all recipes you post on my blog. You have the benefit of adding links to all your social media places you wish to drive traffic to when you are submitting a recipe on my blog. When you are posting simply insert all your social media links into your post. I also will send out news letters and will attache the recipes which has all your social networks attached. That will help you get some more new followers. I also will be sharing on my new Pinterest board Featured Facebook Food Pages of The Social Chef. Also, every time I post to Facebook a tweet is sent out to my Twitter page. I am slowly migrating to Google+ and will eventually be posting the featured food page there as well.
By going this route and choosing food pages and bloggers that post to my submit a recipe section, I know you want to be a featured Facebook food page and I don’t have to have the guilty conscience
of who I pick next. So please comment, like and click share on my whoever is the featured Facebook food page and post a recipe to my submit a recipe section and let’s all help each other.
And a few pages that have helped me and supported me tremendously with my daily featured Facebook food page that I suggest you go support as well. Meal Planning Maven, Canning and Cooking at Home Kitchen Dreaming, Jodies Kitchen, Syrup and Biscuits and of course MB Things I Know simply because she helps everyone.
